    Gut recovery diet

All dogs will experience episodes of loose stools or diarrhoea at least once in their lifetime. This easy to prepare recipe helps provide a simple diet that expedites their recovery. We opted to pair a highly digestible protein like chicken breast mince together with extra fiber from pumpkin and starch from white rice to help calm their gut.

    Feeding Guidelines

    Daily meal allowance

    240g

    Size of dog

    6 kg

    Recommended feeding portion

    60g x 4 meals a day

    Ingredients

    • 2 Chicken Mince Patties (Approx. 120g)
    • 2 Pumpkin Patch Cups (Approx 70g)
    • 50g Cooked White Rice

    Recipe Preparation time

    Thawing

    clock12 - 24 hours

    Cooking

    clock10 mins

    Step 1: Portioning and Thawing

Take out 2 chicken mince patties and 2 pumpkin cups from the packaging and store them in an air-tight container. Thaw frozen products in chiller for at least 12 - 24 hours.

    Step 2: Preparation

Add 100ml of water into pot and bring to boil.

    Step 3: Cooking

Turn down to medium heat and add in the cooked white rice, stirring continuously. Allow it to simmer and thicken into a congee like consistency.

    Step 4: Cooking

Add in chicken mince patties and pumpkin to the pot. Continue to stir well on medium to low heat until the chicken is cooked. Remove from stove.

    Step 5: Storage and Feeding

Once the mixture has been cooled to room temperature, you can portion your dog's daily meal allowance into 3-4 smaller meals spaced throughout the day. Store unused portions in the chiller and warm slightly before feeding.

    Notes

This not a complete or balanced meal and should not be consumed on a long-term basis. Consider other proteins if your dog has a food sensitivity to chicken. If the diarrhoea persists, seek immediate medical attention from your veterinarian.
